Vertical, in-house.
By design.

Vertically integrated through layup, hot press, drilling, QC, and decal. The volume we ship has grown alongside the brands we've built with — not ahead of them.

Everything
under one roof.

From raw material to finished rim — every structural step happens in our own factory. Paint and finish are handled by a single long-term partner, same shop floor since 2016.

Paint partner

One facility. Ten years. Customer artwork stays in one trusted location — not passed between vendors. When a programme needs to ship early, our paint partner works to our calendar.

Material Cutting — DeerCycles factory
01 Material Cutting Carbon prepreg cut to programme-specific angles.
Layup — DeerCycles factory
02 Layup Plies laid to design schedule, fiber orientation locked in.
Mold Loading — DeerCycles factory
03 Mold Loading Preform fitted into mold for hot press.
Hot Press Molding — DeerCycles factory
04 Hot Press Molding Cured under heat & pressure to bond the resin matrix.
Demold — DeerCycles factory
05 Demold Internal air bag pulled, rim released from mold.
CNC Drilling — DeerCycles factory
06 CNC Drilling Spoke holes drilled to spec — 24, 28, 32, or custom.
Surface QC — DeerCycles factory
07 Surface QC Defects inspected and flagged before finishing.
Finish & Paint — DeerCycles factory
08 Finish & Paint Smoothing, painting — matte, satin, glossy, or paintless.
Logo Application — DeerCycles factory
09 Logo Application Painted rims: water transfer decal, then laser engraving after paint. Paintless rims: bead seat finished, then laser engraved directly onto the carbon surface.

Three tiers.
One standard.

Toray prepreg across all programmes — T700 for standard builds, T800 for flyweight, T1000 for maximum performance. Fiber orientation and layup schedule are fixed per mold, giving consistent weight and stiffness batch to batch.

We scale
with you.

We grew with our oldest customer over nine years. They scaled; we scaled. New equipment, refined process, deeper trust — on both sides. When your volume grows, you won't be starting that conversation from scratch.

Every rim comes with a 3-year warranty and a crash-replacement programme.

Buyer Capability FAQ

Verify the factory fit.

Use these notes to understand how DeerCycles handles manufacturing, customization, QC, and capability-driven RFQ routing for carbon rim and wheelset programs.

Which carbon rim manufacturing steps are handled in-house?

DeerCycles handles raw material selection, carbon cutting, layup, hot press molding, demolding, CNC drilling, engineering review, surface QC, dimensional review, raw-rim inflation checks before finishing, and pre-shipment QC in its Xiamen factory. Paint and finish are handled by a long-term partner on the same stable production calendar.

How does DeerCycles control quality before finishing and shipment?

Quality control includes surface inspection before finishing, drilling and dimensional review, raw-rim inflation checks before finishing, and final pre-shipment QC. Buyers who need deeper proof can review the reliability page or specify impact, fatigue, tire-pressure, spoke-tension, and sample approval requirements in the RFQ.

Can buyers specify material, layup, drilling, finish, and branding?

Yes. Buyers can discuss Toray T700, T800, or T1000 prepreg, standard, flyweight, or heavy-duty layup tiers, UD, 1K, 3K, 12K, honeycomb, or braided outer fiber, custom spoke hole counts, offset drilling, Presta or Schrader valves, matte, satin, glossy, or paintless finishes, and decal or laser logo application.

When should buyers use the capabilities page before sending an RFQ?

Use this page to confirm whether DeerCycles has the production, customization, capacity, lead time, warranty, and QC process needed for a carbon rim or wheelset program. Then send the RFQ through the carbon rim OEM, gravel OEM, MTB OEM, wheelset OEM, one-piece wheelset, or contact path with the target specification and validation needs.

Two ways to work with us.

OEM from our catalog or co-engineered ODM from your brief. Either way, you hear back within 24 hours.
