Answers for OEM and private-label carbon rim buyers before your first inquiry: lead times,
materials, QC, ODM process, sample approval, and how we work.
There is no minimum. You can start with a single rim — OEM orders are processed from one unit. Most customers begin with a small sample run before scaling.
OEM orders: 15–25 working days depending on volume. ODM orders: scoped per project complexity, including engineering and tooling time. We'll give you a clear timeline at inquiry stage.
Yes. OEM samples are available at cost before any commitment. For ODM, we discuss sample scope during the engineering phase.
Toray T700, T800, and T1000 prepreg across three weight tiers — standard, flyweight, and heavy-duty. Fiber orientation and layup schedule are fixed per mold for batch consistency.
Matte, satin, glossy, and paintless (raw UD carbon). External fiber options include UD, UD Braided, 1K, 3K, 3K Twill, 12K, 12K Twill, and Honeycomb. Custom weave patterns available on request for ODM programmes.
Yes. Standard counts are 16 · 18 · 20 · 21 · 24 · 28 · 32. Custom counts available on request. Spacing, angle, and offset can all be specified per project.
We co-engineer the profile and build the mold exclusively for your programme — no other brand uses it. Tooling investment is refunded in full after your first 200 rims ship. The mold stays dedicated to your project.
Yes — before any mold is cut. New ODM profiles go through a full validation battery: vertical stiffness, lateral stiffness, braking surface integrity, and spoke tension. You see the results before committing to tooling.
Documented QC checks cover post-molding surface inspection, post-drilling spoke-hole checks, dimensional or runout review when required by the project, raw-rim tire-fit and inflation checks before paint or finish on every rim, paint-factory surface sign-off, and pre-shipment review by our Head of Order Management before the box is sealed.
Three-year rim warranty on all products, plus a crash-replacement programme. Contact us for details.
Yes. We apply your logo as water transfer decal or laser engraving (laser engraving is done on the finished rim — after paint for painted rims, or directly on the carbon surface for paintless). Custom packaging available.
Yes. DeerCycles supports private-label carbon rim programs using existing catalog rim profiles or custom ODM profiles. Buyers can specify logo method, finish, packaging, spoke drilling, sample approval requirements, and repeat-order standards.
Buyers should approve more than appearance. A carbon rim sample should be checked for dimensions, weight, drilling, tubeless fit, finish, logo placement, packaging, QC proof, and whether the approved standard can be repeated in batch production.
OEM carbon rims use an existing DeerCycles catalog profile and are customized with the buyer's finish, logo, drilling, and packaging. ODM carbon rims involve co-engineering a new or exclusive profile, usually with dedicated tooling and validation before production.
Yes. DeerCycles works on a sample-to-production model for OEM carbon rims: most buyers begin with a sample or small evaluation batch for approval, then scale into repeat or batch production.
Your first point of contact is Amber Chen, who manages customer relationships across the full partnership lifecycle. Engineering questions go directly to Daniel Tan. Order management and pre-shipment QC are handled by James Chung. Behind the leadership team is a full production team running the factory — but on your account, you always have direct access to the people who make decisions and own the outcome.
