Start with the tire range, not the catalog column
Give the manufacturer the actual target tire range and name any reference tires planned for sample review. Add the expected pressure range and whether the product is intended to run tubeless. The three-step sequence below shows how those inputs become a sample check.

Treat hooked or hookless as a system choice
Hooked and hookless are not quality grades. They are different interfaces with different compatibility questions. The buyer should identify the intended tires, pressure envelope, destination market, and brand policy, then ask the manufacturer to review the relevant existing model. Current ETRTO recommendations emphasize matching bicycle rims and tires within the applicable compatibility framework. Tire makers may also publish model-specific requirements. The final specification should therefore name the proposed rim, approved tire range or validation tires, applicable guidance, and any project acceptance checks—not merely the words “tubeless ready.”
Separate preference from constraint
Buyers often send a preferred 25 mm inner width, 35 mm depth, and sub-400 g target as if those three values were independent. They are not. The manufacturer needs to know which value is a brand requirement, which is an initial preference, and which can move to protect impact margin, tire support, stiffness, or cost.
Approve the drilling plan, not only the hole count
“24H” is not a complete drilling instruction. A project-specific plan can also depend on rim symmetry or offset, hub geometry, lacing pattern, spoke direction, nipple system, valve location, and access-hole choice. Share the intended hub when possible. If the hub is not fixed, state that clearly and keep drilling approval open until the wheel build is defined.
