Buyer Service FAQ
Choose the right service path.
Use these notes to decide whether to start from an open-mold OEM rim, an exclusive ODM profile, a private-label wheelset program, or the fit finder.
What is the difference between OEM and ODM at DeerCycles?
OEM uses DeerCycles existing catalog molds and adapts them with the buyer logo, finish, drilling, packaging, and sample approval. ODM starts from a buyer brief and develops a custom or exclusive rim profile with engineering validation before tooling and production.
When should a buyer use the fit finder before choosing a service path?
Use the fit finder when the rim, wheelset, hub, spoke, finish, quantity, or RFQ route is unclear. It helps narrow the project to a rim-only OEM quote, gravel or MTB RFQ, complete wheelset program, one-piece wheelset path, or catalog shortlist before the services discussion.
Can DeerCycles support private-label wheel brands as well as rim-only orders?
Yes. DeerCycles can support rim-only OEM orders, private-label carbon rim programs, complete carbon wheelset sourcing discussions, and one-piece carbon spoke wheelset projects. The right path depends on whether the buyer needs only rims, assembled wheels, exclusive geometry, branding, packaging, or repeat batch planning.
What information helps DeerCycles choose the right OEM or ODM service?
Share the application, wheel size or ETRTO, tire system, target inner width and depth, target weight or ride feel, brake or hub requirements, finish, logo, packaging, sample quantity, annual or batch volume, market, destination, and whether the buyer prefers an existing open mold or an exclusive private-mold project.
